The procedure requires two appointments. At the first appointment the face/s of the tooth, or teeth, is prepared by minimal reduction of 0.5 to 0.75 mm in order to make room for the porcelain laminate. An impression (or, mould) is then taken of the prepared tooth for fabrication at a laboratory, and a plastic temporary veneer fitted, where possible, for the interim period. Laboratory fabrication takes approximately 2 week. At the subsequent visit, the temporary veneer/s is removed and the final veneer/s is permanently bonded into place. |
